10 to Track (Fri., 9/29/2017)

1. Morelia vs. Tijuana – Liga MX

Golly is it good to be getting back into Mexican ball. Here’s to hoping the recovery from the earthquake is every bit as far along as can be expected. Or farther.

10th hosts 9th in a matchup of two teams Noob expects to be better.    RESULT:   Morelia  3-0

Image result for good to have you back   Yep, we’re excited!

B. Charlotte Independence vs. FC Cincinnati – USL

Cincinnati just can’t quite replicate the magic of their US Open Cup run in league, especially on the road. Awful. 2nd place Charlotte is likely going to make the 6th place visitors sweat profusely, as -9th- place is only two points back.   No sweat after all.    RESULT:   Cinci  0-1

3. USM Alger vs. Wydad Casablanca – CAF Champions League

Fun fact: In 2015, USMA made the Final of this event, finishing 2nd. First leg of the semifinal tie starts here.    RESULT:   0-0

4. Cork City vs. Limerick – FAI Cup

This is a semifinal, and shouldn’t be interesting by the numbers. Cork was all but unbeatable the first couple months of the league season. But they’ve seen some losses more recently, so who knows?    RESULT:   Cork 1-0

5. Shanghai Shenxin vs. Shanghai Shenhua – China FA Cup

Division Two Shenxin has certainly surprised in getting so far. And they’re only down 1-0 on aggregate. But will home really be an advantage when it’s an intracity rivalry?   RESULT:   Shenhua   0-1

6. Guarani vs. General Diaz – Paraguay Premier

2nd hosts 3rd in a tremendous matchup. Guarani have been winning close and playing on the road while GD has been playing more at home and racking up goals.   RESULT:   General Diaz   0-1

7. Emelec vs. Club Deportivo Cuenca – Ecuador Premier

Fun fact: Emelec was founded by an American who headed the namesake power company. 4th hosts 2nd here.   RESULT:   Emelec   1-0

8. Floriana vs. Gzira United – Maltese Premier

2nd hosts 1st and Noob’s always down for that in any top flight league. They’re only a few games in but Gzira has no losses or draws.   Gzira has at least one of them now.   RESULT:   1-1

9. Bhayangkara Surabaya vs. Bali United Pusam – Indonesian Super League

Another 1st vs. 2nd matchup! As previously noted, Bhayangkara is mainly a police-team. Perhaps Bali should be content with 2nd, play some finesse ball against Bekasi’s finest?    Bhayangkara  3-2

10. FC Oss vs. Jong Ajax – Eerste Divisie

It just wouldn’t be a Friday T2T without looking somewhere a bit unusual! This is a match from The Netherland’s second division, with 4th hosting 1st place.    RESULT:   Jong Akax  0-3
